Visit to CELF in Nykøbing, Denmark: an enriching experience within the ERASMUS+ programme
From May 6th to 9th, 2025, our colleague Albert Grau had the opportunity to travel to Denmark to visit the CELF educational center, located in the city of Nykøbing F. St., thanks to the ERASMUS+ program. This experience was highly enriching, both personally and professionally, as it allowed him to gain firsthand insight into their educational system and establish contacts for future international projects.
Over the course of these three days, he observed how CELF offers studies equivalent to our Higher Vocational Training programs, usually lasting between two and a half to three years, depending on the specialty and each student's pace. A key part of their educational pathway is the mandatory internship in companies, which typically lasts several months and plays a crucial role in their training, helping them transition more smoothly into the workforce. During the visit, Albert had the opportunity to meet with teachers and students, and he realized the importance they place on collaboration between the school and local businesses.
This close relationship ensures that the program content is up-to-date and aligned with market needs. The students explained that during their internships, they not only learn technical aspects but also develop interpersonal skills, teamwork, and resilience—key factors for facing the professional challenges of the future.
Additionally, he was able to see that the Danish model strongly promotes student autonomy and responsibility, with open workspaces and a methodology based on real-life projects. Constant contact with the business world and the emphasis on practical skills are aspects shared with our vocational training programs, but in Denmark, they are even more deeply integrated throughout the entire educational process.
This visit helped him better understand other ways of teaching and organizing vocational studies, and it highlights the importance of programs like ERASMUS+ in opening borders, building connections, and enhancing our teaching practices.
It has undoubtedly been a very positive experience, and we hope it will lead to new mobility projects for our students at INS Nicolau Copèrnic.
