Erasmus+

WANT TO COMPLETE YOUR STUDIES ABROAD? THE ERASMUS+ PROGRAM MAKES IT POSSIBLE!

Erasmus+ is the EU's program for Education, Learning, Youth, and Sports for 2014-2020. This program is aimed at students in both higher-level vocational training (CFGS) and mid-level vocational training (CFGM) and offers the opportunity to complete internships in European companies.

Students receive recognition for their internship period abroad, which will correspond to part or all of the Work-Based Training (FCT) described in the corresponding curriculum for each training cycle.

Host organizations can be companies, training centers, research centers, and other organizations. Students receive financial aid that helps fund part of the travel and accommodation expenses abroad.

The Nicolau Copèrnic Institute provides support with applications, finding host centers, securing accommodation, and processing all necessary documents for the stay abroad.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Erasmus+ is the European Union program that covers different areas: student exchange (in two modalities: studies and internships); teacher exchange; exchange of administration and services staff, etc.

The Erasmus+ action is intended for students and staff of institutions in the 27 member states of the European Union, the three countries of the European Economic Area (Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway), and Turkey, Switzerland, and Croatia. The Erasmus+ program enables students enrolled in European institutions to complete training internships at another European institution (lasting from one to three months) and the subsequent recognition of the internship training completed abroad.

This recognition of the internship training will follow the learning agreement that the student will have arranged with their exchange coordinator and the host company before departure. The student pays the tuition fee to the home institution and has the opportunity to complete Work-Based Training at a foreign host institution. The sending institution will provide information about accommodation options, host companies, and the logistics of the stay.

The Nicolau Copèrnic Institute offers Vocational Training students the possibility to participate in mobility programs within the Erasmus+ framework managed by the International Mobility Coordination, and to complete their Work-Based Training at one of the European institutions with which the center has signed agreements. Internship mobility can be done with European companies with which specific agreements have been established regarding the number of students, duration of mobility, etc.

PERIOD AND DURATION OF MOBILITY

Mobility must always take place during the regular period for completing the Work-Based Training (FCT) of the training cycle that the student is studying, after passing all modules from the first and second year, or credits in the case of single-year cycles. If the student has not passed a module or credit, the teaching team will decide whether they can benefit from the mobility grant. Within this period, the duration of mobility can be from a minimum of 1 month to a maximum of 3 months.

ECONOMIC SUPPORT

SEPIE (Spanish Service for the Internationalization of Education) is the organization that distributes the economic funds from the European Union to fund students participating in the Erasmus+ program. Students who are beneficiaries of an Erasmus+ grant will receive between 80% and 100% of the amount one week before departure by bank transfer. 100% payment will be made if the center considers it appropriate.

If 80% is paid, the student will receive the remaining 20% once they have returned and provided all the end-of-stay documentation. To access the payment, it will be necessary to have signed the grant contract, the commitment document, and to have provided bank details. These steps are essential to receive the bank transfer.
